What to Expect
At Lindsay Osteopathy, your comfort and care are the priority. Here’s what to expect and how to prepare for your osteopathic session:
Before Your Visit:
• Book Online: Schedule your session via our secure booking system.• Book by Phone: Schedule your session by phoning 705-308-8408• Complete a Consent Form: This can be done online following the scheduling of an initial appointment (either via email or in person at your initial appointment).
• What to Wear: Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing (e.g., sweatpants, leggings, a t-shirt, or athletic wear) to allow easy movement and access for treatment. Avoid restrictive items like jeans or tight dresses. For children, soft clothing like sweatpants and a t-shirt works best.
• What to Do: Arrive 5-10 minutes early to relax and discuss your needs. For young children, bring a favorite toy or book to help them feel at ease.
During Your Session:
• Gabriella Grima will conduct a thorough assessment, explain the treatment plan, and use gentle, hands-on techniques.
• Adult Initial Intake sessions are 45 minutes long to discuss full health history, treatment is applied during this session. Applied treatment duration is 15-20 minutes long and tailored to your needs.• Adult Follow-Up Treatment sessions are 30 minutes long to discuss changes and current status. Applied treatment duration is 15-20 minutes long and tailored to your needs.• Prenatal Initial Intake sessions are 45 minutes long to discuss full health history, pregnancy/birth plan, treatment is applied during this session. Applied treatment duration is 15-20 minutes long and tailored to your needs.• Prenatal Follow-Up Treatment sessions are 30 minutes long to discuss changes and current status. Applied treatment duration is 15-20 minutes long and tailored to your pregnancy needs.• Child Initial Intake Treatment sessions are 30 minutes long to discuss full health history, treatment is applied during this session. Applied treatment duration is 10-15 minutes long and tailored to your child's needs.• Child Follow-Up Treatment sessions are 20 minutes long to discuss relevant changes since initial treatment and applied treatment duration is 10-15 minutes long and tailored to your child's needs.• For children, Gabriella creates a fun, engaging experience to ensure comfort.
After Your Session:
• You may feel immediate relief, improved mobility, or relaxation. Some clients experience mild soreness, which typically resolves within a day.
• Gabriella will provide follow-up advice to support your progress as well as a treatment plan.
• Book follow-up sessions as needed via our online system, in-person or call in.
